Chapter 12 - Internment

Following the capture of the Brussels on 22nd June 1916, the crew were separated and interned in three concentration camps in Germany, with Fryatt and his officers being sent to Ruhleben, the ratings being sent to Brandenburg, and the stewardesses being sent to Holzminden.

 

The exhibition will feature views taken within these camps that include the crew of the Brussels as well as of the crew of the Great Eastern Railway Company's ship the Colchester.
